Roger Savage started his career in the UK in the 1960s and emigrated to Australia in 1964. He spent many years working with many of Australia’s successful recording stars of the time. He has been credited with having been a major force in establishing an international quality for Australian music recording. In 1978 he mixed his first feature film “Mad Max I”, using synchronised video picture and multi track sound, the first time this technique had been used on a feature film. In 1983, Roger opened Soundfirm in Melbourne. He followed this with Sydney in 1986 and most recently, Beijing in 2004. Over the years Soundfirm has developed into the foremost facility of its kind and Roger continues to head the organisation he created over 30 years ago.

Philip retired in early 2016 after fourteen years at the helm of Risk Sound and more than four decades as a leader in commercial audio engineering and sound design. Being twice named as ‘Creative Person of the Year’ by the Melbourne Advertising & Design Club is testament to the recognition Philip has earned for his contribution to the local advertising industry. His passion for sound, which won him numerous local and international awards, has always been matched by his nurturing of emerging talent, be they sound designers, producers, copywriters or voice-over artists. This dedication was acknowledged at the 2015 VoVo Awards, when Philip received the inaugural ‘Industry Achievement Award’ for a lifetime of mentoring and support to the voice-over profession.

Dylan arrived at Risk Sound in 2002 with a first class Hons Degree in Recording Arts and absolutely no idea of post production. But taken under the wing of the legendary Phil Webster, that all soon changed. With a background in music, a childhood of cartoons and a general love of making noise, learning the craft of voice direction and sound design for radio and TV has just seemed a natural fit for Dylan. With every project bringing a new challenge and something to jump right into, Dylan now manages Risk Sound for Roger Savage since Phil’s retirement.

Haley is a natural when it comes to post production, with a love of storytelling, craft and creativity, and comes from a family who are passionate members of the advertising industry.

Haley grew up in the Melbourne Advertising of the 80’s & 90’s, either in an edit suite or on a set, and even appeared and voiced her share of ADR and V/O for TVC’s as a child.

Whilst studying a Film Production Diploma making her own short films, she landed her first gig at the iconic AAV Studios as a Film & Tape Librarian, and never looked back to become a Post Production Producer with a focus on Longform production. With over 15 years experience working respectively for Digital Pictures / Deluxe / DDP Studios & Soundfirm working on many high profile and international Feature & TV Series projects.

Haley’s love of the arts, music and sound production, as well as being a total movie nerd, has now led her full circle back to the advertising industry after taking a recent break becoming a mother to a busy young daughter.

For the past ten years, Beck has worked extensively within the Radio and Television broadcasting industry.

After studying Commercial Radio at Swinburne University, Beck got her first gig producing on the Hughesy and Kate Breakfast show on Nova 100.

Recognised by her Nova colleagues as a tenacious and budding producer, she was swiftly moved into Nova’s national drive show team to produce The Meshel, Tim and Marty program.

She spent the next few of years working in the radio industry, before moving into television to work as a researcher and casting producer for WTFN Entertainment.

In 2017 Beck crazily decided to go back to the 3am alarms, moving back into breakfast radio to produce the Jo and Lehmo breakfast show on Gold 104.3. Then in 2018, she was a pivotal part of the team that then built, created, and produced the #1 FM breakfast show, The Christian O’Connell Show.

In 2020, (the year we shall not mention) Beck pursued her passion for audio production and live sound engineering, studying Sound Production at Melbourne Polytechnic.

Soon after finishing, she got a gig as the podcast producer on the highly successful finance podcast, She’s on The Money.

Last year she joined Jo Stanley’s start up, Broad Radio, as a live show and podcast producer. In her spare time, she also does some freelance podcasting and the occasional live sound gig at a few bars around town.
